This is the crown jewel of Asakusa and Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple, founded in 645 AD. Upon approach to the temple, you’ll pass through the Kaminarimon Gate, with its iconic giant red lantern. The Nakamise shopping street, leading to the temple, is lined with stalls selling traditional snacks, souvenirs, and crafts.

Before wondering the area, stop here for an incredible view of Asakusa from the free observation deck. The center itself, was designed by architect Kengo Kuma and is a stunning piece of modern architecture.

Stroll along the Sumida River for breathtaking views of the Tokyo Skytree located a short distance in Sumida Ku. For a unique experience, take a river cruise from Asakusa to Odaiba or the Hamarikyu Gardens.

Asahi Beer Hall

Beer lovers, rejoice! Just across the Sumida River, you’ll find the Asahi Beer Hall, known for its striking golden “Flame of Fire” sculpture on the roof. The beer hall is park of a complex of Asahi Brewery Headquarters. Enjoy a cold brew with a view!

Asakusa Hanayashiki Amusement Park

One of Japan’s oldest amusement parks, Hanayashiki, is a fun throwback to a simpler time. Perfect for families or anyone feeling nostalgic, it features quirky kiddie rides and attractions.
