This tour focuses on the Northern Ireland with stops in the Republic of Ireland as well, You'll experience food and drink like the Irish.  Belfast is an up and coming foodie destination and the time is right for a visit there.   This is a private tour for 2 to 8 people and can be modified to fit your needs or your budget.   If you have a larger group or different budget we have alternatives we can discuss with you.

Traveling this way offers the freedom to explore more on your own, make your own selection of restaurants and go at a slower pace than a coach tour.  This tour is best for anyone that has been to Ireland and would like to see some of the hidden gems not seen on standard tours or a Foodie that wants a different side of Ireland.

Foodie Tour of Northern Ireland

This 8 night Northern Ireland tour takes you to both popular sights and hidden gems tasting food and cocktails along the way.  Your private driver will regale you with the history and folklore of the Emerald Isle.

 

DAY 1: DUBLIN ARRIVAL & DAY AT LEISURE
Private Transfer to Dublin Hotel
Welcome to Ireland! After landing at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. A private transfer will escort you and your luggage to the hotel.

Vintage Tea Tour
Take a step back in time with Vintage Tea Tours and experience Dublin in a unique way. Enjoy renowned Afternoon Tea delicacies, good conversation and tap along to some fabulous 1950’s jazz as you take in the city sights.

 

Musical Pub Crawl
This evening join fellow travelers for a Musical Pub Crawl in Dublin. Visit famous pubs and bars in the Temple Bar area. Also enjoy musical performances along with some uniquely Irish tales.

DAY2:  DUBLIN TO BELFAST
Today your private driver services start. Meet your private driver in the lobby of your hotel at 9:00 AM this morning. Enjoy your comfortable ride with your knowledgeable driver who will guide you through the popular and hidden gems of Ireland.

 

Belfast Sightseeing
Embark on a panoramic tour around Belfast. In the city center see the Albert Memorial, the Opera House and Crown Liquor Saloon. In Donegall Square visit the imposing City Hall, completed in 1906. The richly decorated interior contains stained glass portraying Belfast's principal industries.

 

Belfast Food Tour

DAY 3: BELFAST TO DERRY

In the Titanic Quarter, visit Titanic Belfast to embark on a journey through the life of the Titanic, from her conception in Belfast to her tragic end.

This 4 hour guided tour showcases the very best of the local food and drink in Derry. With everything from street food, craft beers, local cheeses and patisserie you will sample over 25 different local food and drinks. Stop to visit the Walled City Brewery, which has offered locally flavored craft and artisan beers for over a decade. After an informative guided tour, enjoy a sample of the finished product.

2 Night Stay: Bishops Gate Hotel, Derry
Located in the Cathedral Quarter within Derry’s city walls, this hotel features Edwardian architecture with luxurious and contemporary design. DAY 4: GIANT'S CAUSEWAY
Giants Causeway
Stop to visit the Giant's Causeway, an impressive area of hexagonal columns formed over 60 million years ago by cooling lava which has given rise to many legends.  Walk along the path to see the high walls, hexagonal columns, and crashing sea.


Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge
Stop en route to visit the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge which spans a chasm of some eighty feet deep. This swinging rope bridge is not for the faint-hearted, but the coastal views are wonderful, even without crossing the bridge.


DAY 5: SLIGO SIGHTSEEING
County Sligo Drive
Take an awe-inspiring drive through County Sligo, passing Ben Bulben, a large rock formation that has a table top appearance, and Mullaghmore, a village located on a peninsula. There, stop and see Classieblawn, an imposing country house that sits between the ocean and Ben Bulben.

Seaweed Foraging Adventure
Walk with a herbalist, and find and identify many wild foods that grow right on the doorstep of Co. Sligo: from Nettles and Sorrel to Cleavers and Hogweed, from leaves and flowers to berries and roots. Learn how nutritious these foraged foods are and how to use them. At the end of the walk, enjoy a tasting.

DAY 7: LOUGH ERNE
Lough Erne Water Taxi & Locally Produced Lunch
Hop on to this comfy and charismatic water taxi and immerse yourself into the magnificent scenery. This is truly a time to sit back, relax and soak up your surroundings with a chauffeur and tour guide providing you with everything you need. Stop at Devenish Island where you can enjoy a picnic filled with mouthwatering local produce.

DAY 8: FERMANAGH TO DUBLIN
Slane Castle Tour & Distillery Tasting
Take a tour of both Slane Distillery and Slane Castle. At the working distillery, you can see and learn how Irish whiskey is made, from how they source grains through to maturation. The tour culminates in a tutored tasting of their signature Triple Casked Slane Irish Whiskey. At Slane Castle, home to the Conyngham family since 1703, you can take in the 18th Century interiors and learn about its colorful heritage and history, including the legendary Slane Rock Concerts. (U2, Queen, and the like)

 

Brazen Head Dinner & Entertainment (a Vibrant Travel personal favorite)

Tonight, head to Brazen Head, which is Dublin's oldest pub, dating back to 1198. Enjoy an evening of Food, Folk and Fairies, where story-telling will reveal Ireland's myths and beliefs in times past.
